India Smart Grid Forum (ISGF) is a public-private partnership initiative of the Ministry of Power (MoP), Government of India. The goal of the forum is to help the Indian power sector to deploy Smart Grid technologies in an efficient, cost-effective, innovative and scalable manner by bringing together all the key stakeholders and enabling technologies.
To keep up with the increasing pace of development of smart grid activities in India, ISGF is aiming to expand its operations by recruiting experts in various technical and business areas of smart grids. ISGF is primarily a research and business development platform with collaborations of 100+ member organizations covering government institutions, regulatory bodies, public enterprises, electric utilities, technology companies, emerging entrepreneurial ventures, industry associations, and premier academic & research institutions across the world. Working at ISGF offers a unique front-row perspective in envisioning and building the nation’s power and energy infrastructure.
ISGF members participate in focused working groups to develop use cases, standards, technology recommendations and guidelines. The working groups are: WG1 – Advanced Transmission Systems, WG2 – Advanced Distribution Systems, WG3 – Communications for Smart Grids, WG4 – Metering, WG5 – Consumption and Load Control, WG6 – Policy and Regulations, WG7 – Architecture and Design, WG8 – Pilots and Business Models, WG9 – Renewables and Microgrids, WG10 – Cyber security.
